CODE OF ETHICS

My blog posts present a strong and clear point of view. Many people will vehemently disagree with much of what I have to say. Hopefully my posts will also contain some humor, sarcasm and a bit of wisdom. I trust that all those who participate will do the same. Passion does not necessitate ad hominem attacks. I am as passionate as any of you. Personal attacks only detract from the merits of an argument and degrade the quality of discussion. The same holds true for the use of profanity. Let’s reserve profanity for private moments. I am certain we can find far more creative and persuasive ways to make a case. Biting prose and carefully chosen words are far more effective.

These guidelines in no way negate the necessity of accurately describing terrorists, terror groups and all those of ill will. Nor does it mean we should avoid colorful language to make a point or promote a cause. We have an obligation to fully expose the nature of the bad guys and articulately lobby for what matters to us. Name-calling and using profanity requires very little in terms of thought or wisdom.

I look forward to your comments. I have much to learn from well thought out critiques and suggestions. Be sure to read and reread before posting your comments.

We are blessed to have the legacy of the First Amendment. However, freedom asserted without the requisite responsibility descends into nothing more then license.
