A PUT UP OR SHUT UP FANTASY

Pontificating is action and commitment free. Posturing to include selfies, speeches at self-congratulatory events, on late night T.V, The View and You Tube calling other people names falls into this category. Which brings to mind much of the hot rhetoric directed at those who believe refugees from terrorist infested nations need to be better vetted or denied passage into America.

I have a suggestion for the leftist politicians and celebrities that tell us they have huge hearts and are ever so concerned that we might not let thousands of additional insufficiently vetted refugees into America.

Their dreams of overturning the election will probably not pan out. As long as Trump is President and Congress controlled by Republican’s those huddled masses of jihadists will probably have a hard time getting into America legally. I have a plan the elites should propose to the President as evidence of their sincerity. What’s the saying about action being superior to words? This program probably wouldn’t pass Congressional muster but it would suggest a personal commitment beyond words. Plus it is so much fun to call the bluff of the pontificators.

As of now the refugees who have come over have been deposited primarily in communities in the heartland. Small towns shoulder the burden of educating; housing and medical care for new foreign residents. Do caring and compassionate progressives care about heartland Americans as much as Somalis, Syrians, Sudanese and Nigerians? I’ll be generous and assume progressives do care about fellow Americans as much as potential refugees.

Here’s how progressives can fulfill a burning desire to rescue refugees and to boot relieve small communities of financial burdens they cannot afford.

Bernie Sanders, Barbara Streisand, Robert De Niro, Jane Fonda, Jonny Depp, Mila Kunis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashley Judd, Ben Affleck, Whoopi Goldberg (Caryn Elaine Johnson), Rob Reiner, Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg, Madonna, George Clooney, Joy Behar, Harvey Weinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore allied with like-minded celebrities and politicians can solve these problems without tax dollars or burdening middle-class communities. Celebrities can rally hundreds if not thousands of peers with the wherewithal to rescue refugees without disadvantaging hard working Americans. Kill two burdensome birds with the stones in their deep pockets. It would be a celebrity miracle.

Most leftist elites own multiple homes. For the most part they have wealth that would sustain their opulent lifestyles for centuries. These guys, gals, gender undecided and fluid progressives probably have a ton of empty bedrooms on their luxury estates. Their Viking refrigerators and walk-in pantries are brimming with organic gluten free delicacies. Their mansions are stocked with cases of the purist bottled water and fine wine.

I would imagine most of them have more cars then they and their families can drive at any one time: Bentley’s to satisfy stylish desires, Teslas to demonstrate environment credentials and Lamborghinis just for a thrill. It’s the perfect set up to take in some visitors. The only negative is that refugees may overstay their welcome just like relatives. And a few refugees’ might decide their hosts are infidels. It’s a small price to pay to do God, Allah or Lenin’s work depending on their inspirational foundation. They just need to be sure their personal security guards are alert with guns fully loaded, just in case. Large magazines and automatic weapons are preferable. How about a nice new welcome mat spelling out, “Welcome To My Home, Stranger” in Arabic?

Gosh darn, these hosts must be the same millionaires and billionaires that Bernie demonized so successfully. This plan will allow them to counter Bernie’s critique about greed. Prove him wrong. And Bernie I know you feel like a piker in the company of those greedy elites. But I assume you and your wife can’t live in all three of your homes at once, despite your wife’s girth. Plus you are aware that many of these elites dearly love you.

Get ready Upper East Side, Malibu Colony, Silicon Valley, Aspen, Beverly Hills, Cambridge, Pacific Heights, Burlington, Lake Champlain and Georgetown for your new guests. I would suggest you begin to do some research to secure chefs who can prepare authentic foods in the spirit of cultural diversity. Halal compliant food might be required. Find those stores.

Be very careful. Do not cross the fine line of cultural appropriation. It gets complicated – value diversity but don’t participate too much. You may need a course in ethnic studies to prepare so you don’t offend people who don’t embrace western values. For Gods sake you can’t insist that they accept the Judeo-Christian values that has delivered your prosperity and freedom.

Here’s how it will work. Each host will sign a contract for each of the refugees he, she or it brings over. The terms are as follows. Hosts will pay for first-class air travel or arrange to fly the refugees on the host’s private jet. Its imperative to serve ethnically appropriate goodies on the flight. Hosts will assume full responsibility for all their new dependent’s needs to include: room, board, clothing, private health insurance/care, private education, transportation, job training and recreational needs. Think of all the new jobs they can create. If a refugee receives any public assistance or benefit the host will be required to reimburse the pubic and pay a $50,000 fine.

Should a child be born to a refugee, the host will be responsible for the child’s needs. Abortions are not permitted. Until the refugee is 100% self-sufficient hosts are responsible for refugee care. If a refugee becomes independent and then slides back into dependence, hosts must pick up that slack. Refugees will be host wards instead of state wards until they die. It’s just like the government sourced Obama fantasy played out in The Life of Julia campaign enticement.

Should a refugee in a host’s care commit a crime of violence, property crime or fraud the host will be considered an accessory to the crime and subject to a fine of no less then $100,000 not to exceed $500,000. If the refugee incurs any tickets or fines the host will be obligated to pay the fine. Should one of them conspire to commit terrorism or commit an act of terror they will be put in Guantanamo Bay prison for life and the host will be subject to charges to include conspiring in terror. Hosts will be assessed the cost of refugee turned terrorist’s care in Guantanamo. It’s only fair that the host pays for those they insist be brought to America. Taking responsibility for the consequences of what one demands of others is eminently reasonable.

You see it’s all about putting their money and lives where their mouths have been. The hosts will be taking personal responsibility for what they want the average Joe (the collective) to do and pay for. I am merely calling their bluff. If the responsibility and the dangers fall on them as individuals instead of the government (hard working tax payers) it would look a whole lot different.
